It says that it conditions as it works. I have used several shampoos and conditioners (separate products) to keep my dogs coat soft and supple. This is better then any of the high priced specialty shampoos and conditioners I have used. It works drastically better the Oatmeal Aloe shampoo at reducing itching and scratching, and her coat is more soft, shiny, and supple, then any of the high priced products I've used. If for nothing else then the cleaning and conditioning, this is definitely an excellent product. It also saves a lot of time not having to use conditioner after I shampoo her.
